Arguably one of the largest RV manufacturers in the world, Forest River has managed to grow in epic proportions over a fairly short amount of time. A combination of excellent business practices and even better products has made them one of the most popular companies on the market and Broadmoor RV is proud to be one of the select dealerships to offer their models.

 

History

As we mentioned, the company is relatively young. They didn’t enter the market until 1996, when founder Peter Liegl used assets from a previous RV company he worked for to start Forest River. At first, they stuck with some of the RV basics: tent campers, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and park models. Over time, though, this would change.

 

Over the course of only a couple decades, they exploded into the market, expanding their business and their product line through a number of different avenues. One such avenue was regularly acquiring other businesses, generally in the specialty vehicle market. This included major purchases like US Cargo, Starcraft Bus, Glaval Bus, and Dynamax Corporation. The company took it’s next big leap in 2005 when they joined one of the largest holding companies in the world, Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

 

While all this was happening, they also continued to expand and improve their product line. Eventually, they would add other major RV types, like motorhomes, to their lineup, and constantly looked for new ways to improve each and every model.
